For any young ladies reading this who are strugling and could use encouragement from a singly guy as to why they should not sell themselves short:

I consider myself to be a Godly young man who strives to seek after God's own heart. For me, it is a daily battle.

A woman who is exceedingly beautiful outwardly is cause for me to keep my gaurd up. Even if she is a Christian, I need to gaurd myself, lest I fall into lust. If she is not a Christian, it is all the more reason for me to steer clear of her. It's not that I have anything against beautiful young women, but I am compelled to maintain my distance for the sake of both our consciences.

Primarily, what I look for in a woman is a quiet and gentle spirit. She is filled with peace and righteousness that comes only from the Holy Ghost living inside her. She also knows and understands who she is under Christ.

Admittedly, attraction is not something to be ignored, but I trust God that He will lead me to someone who I will find attractive. This is a sensitive subject today, but it cannot be ignored. Our bodies are not our own. First, they belong to God , our Maker (1 Cor. 6:18-20), and then to our spouse (1 Cor. 7:2-5), should God be ever so gracious.

This is my personal conviction, and not to be taken as a generalized statement of all believers. (Although, I'm certainly not the only one of this persuasion!) It is for this reason that I will not date a woman who abuses her body, including starving or over-indulging her temple.

I hope this has been an encouragement. If you think I'm amiss on anthing, please don't hesitate to call me on it. God bless! ^_^
