My concern is that this will be the headline in the next five to ten years. Right now, we are not dead, but dying. The United States of America was founded just over 200 years ago on the belief that man is unique, created in the image of God, and, thus, to be free from oppression from other men. During the last 200 years the evil one has slowly, but surely, undermined the basic tenants of our founding documents, those things which our fore-fathers fought and died to give to us.
The pursuit of “life, liberty, and happiness” has given way to a hedonist culture in which we no longer recognize the authority of God in our lives, and we are reaping the rotten fruit of the franken seeds we've sown. Sexual promiscuity is no longer just rampant; it is epidemic. Earlier today I read of a report in which it was stated that more than 99% of people engage in premarital sex. Sex offenders are given a slap on the wrist, even for the most grievous offenses. We protect the lives of convicted felons who have committed violent crimes of the worst kind when they should be executed, and we protect a mother's “right” to murder her unborn children. We encourage suicide, and murder the sick and elderly who poured themselves into us in our early years and have now become too burdensome. We are steeped in the blood from money left in goodwill as an inheritance for their children.
Violent crime is on the rise. Justice is lost to the one able to pay the amount required. Our government has turned into a behemoth, a leviathan, unstoppable, except by the hand of God. (May He act swiftly.) Our government not only steals our money to burn on ill-fated hell-bound expeditions, but it now steals our land too.
Although there may still be a few diamonds in the ruff, our government is exceedingly corrupt, rotten to the core, through and through. Nothing short of revolution or revival can turn the tide at this point. (May our God in Heaven act swiftly.)
Soon, by the year 2010, if the Bush administration has its way, the United States of America will be merged with Canada and Mexico. We will loose our sovereignty to a new North American Union. Our Constitution will be gone, wiped away, subjected to the rule of the NAU, and, with it, the Bill of Rights.
Look at the persecution happenning to the Church around the world, even just the industrialized nations! Denmark and Canada move steadily closer to legalizing child prostitution. Popularity with euthanizing sick children is spreading in Europe. A growing movement is afoot to criminalize thought (e.g. so-called “hate crimes”). In Germany it is illegal to home-school your children, they are forcibly subjected to government indoctrination. Judicial and legislative rulings are becoming increasingly more “tolerant” of Muslims and less tolerant of Christians.
When we loose our sovereignty, and with it the Bill of Rights, Christians here, I fear, can expect a tidal wave of persecution. Not all at once of course, but it will mount. For various reasons, of which I will not go into at depth at this time (feel free to email me), I believe we are very, very close to the end of this age or a staggering revival of the likes of which we have never before in history seen. If you examine the Scriptures, particularly in the Old Testament, a major history-altering event has occurred about every two thousand years. If Christ was crucified in about 30 AD, then we are very close to that time again. However, until then things look bleak. A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing. We must continue to rely on Him.
If the United States of America dies, life will go on, but, with it, so also will die the hopes and dreams for which our fathers fought and died 200 years ago.
