WICHITA, Kansas — New concerns about broader criminal activity on the part of late-term abortionist George R. Tiller have surfaced in the wake of 19 criminal charges filed against him by Kansas Attorney General Paul Morrison on Thursday. In addition, some statements made by Morrison have led to speculation that there may be a broad conspiracy to violate the Kansas ban on post-viability abortions that may involve individuals in the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, a bureaucracy under the oversight of pro-abortion Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.
In an article published by Operation Rescue today, OR President Troy Newman states:
- Evidence points to hundreds of criminal charges should be filed against Tiller for crimes committed in 2004-2007.
- The investigation has implicated a conspiracy to violate the law has existed between Tiller, Neuhaus, and two Kansas oversight boards under the direction of Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.
- Morrison dumped the more serious charges of illegal abortion for frivolous reasons, allowing those illegal abortions to continue.
Operation Rescue is opposing any attempt for Tiller to plea bargain, if that plea bargain allows him to continue to violate the Kansas ban on late-term abortions.
